Perhaps you'd like a solemn memorial service. Or maybe an upbeat remembrance. Would you like your children to speak in your memory? Maybe you'd like your old college roommate to say a few words. Perhaps the last thing you'd want is your cousin trying to sing. In other words, what are your wishes? Have you thought about them? And have you told anyone? Guessing what you would have wanted is a burden you can avoid placing on your loved ones... especially at such a difficult time. Putting your wishes on paper is a thoughtful, compassionate thing to do, a task that takes only a few minutes. In fact, we've created a
Planning & Discussion Guide to help you consider these wishes and help ensure that they are fulfilled by those you leave behind.
Once you've written them down, you may want to discuss them with someone close to you. Or you may prefer to keep them private, stored with other important documents, such as your will. (However, be sure and tell someone where to find your written record of your final wishes.)
