Staff of the National Cremation Society Fruitland Park, FL office, including service manager Sara McGovern, will be participating in The American Hero’s Health Fair sponsored by Ocala Oaks Rehabilitation Center. The health fair will occur at the VFW Veterans Village in Fort McCoy on Tuesday, July 12th from 9am to 12pm.
National Cremation Society Fruitland Park will be providing information about the government benefits veterans can receive for funeral and cremation services. McGovern will be able to answer questions about what veteran cremation packages are available, and can discuss how National Cremation Society helps families receive the appropriate military honors for a veteran who has recently passed away.
“Educating veterans not only about what we do but also about what they are entitled to is very important to us,” said McGovern.
The booth run by National Cremation Society Fruitland Park will feature a variety of resources for veterans. There will also be a special giveaway for the veterans who visit the National Cremation Society Fruitland Park booth, as a token of the gratitude McGovern and her team feels for the sacrifices the brave veterans in their community have made.
Information will be provided about how to apply for placement in the Florida National Cemetery, cremation preplanning options for veterans, urns and other merchandise available from National Cremation Society, and how to obtain discharge papers and other military documents in advance so it is easy to apply for veteran cremation benefits from the government at the time of need.
“A lot of veterans and especially their families may not be aware of their benefits or the process of interment at a National Cemetery,” McGovern said.
National Cremation Society hopes to change that by providing valuable cremation information to veterans and their families in the VFW Veteran’s Village. While end-of-life care is never easy to talk about, National Cremation Society Fruitland Park believes it is important for veterans to know what they can do to protect their wishes now and what their loved ones should expect at the time of need. With a variety of services designed specifically for veterans, National Cremation Society is able to help complete paperwork and find benefits that ensure veterans receive memorial flags, interment at National Cemeteries, military honors, a Presidential Certificate, government reimbursements, and more, depending on eligibility.
“We are happy to answer any questions,” McGovern said.
