National Cremation Society Fruitland Park, FL Sponsors Golf Tournament Benefiting Cancer Fighters and Survivors

National Cremation Society is dedicated to assisting families through the toughest times in their lives, so they are proud to sponsor the 19th Annual “Go for the Green” Golf Classic which supports the fighters and survivors of prostate and ovarian cancer.

“Raising awareness for any type of cancer is important, but often times with ovarian cancer there are no symptoms associated early on and only very general symptoms in later states, making it hard to diagnose until it has already spread,” National Cremation Society Fruitland Park Service Manager Sara McGovern said.

The golf tournament will be hosted by Leesburg Regional Medical Center Foundation, and it will be held at El Campeón at the Mission Inn Resort and Club on Friday, September 9th from 7:00am to 2:30pm. National Cremation Society and other community leaders and local businesses will join together to help fight against prostate and ovarian cancer through sponsorships or participation in the tournament itself on one of the best golf courses in the country.

By raising money through the Golf Classic, the Leesburg Regional Medical Center Foundation is able to support programs for the Leesburg Regional Medical Center (LRMC) that benefit families affected by prostate and ovarian cancer as well as other critical conditions. The foundation raises money for research and other programs run by the Leesburg Regional Medical Center through other events including wine tastings, luncheons, and holiday festivals.

“We have received so much positive feedback from our families on the level of care that they’ve received while their loved ones were at LRMC. We feel it is important to help support the healthcare providers at LRMC so that they may continue to serve our community,” McGovern said.

National Cremation Society Fruitland Park believes it’s important to ensure all families receive the care and compassion they need to live long and fulfilling lives, and they contribute much of their time to supporting families in the central Florida community. This summer, this office showed its commitment to the dedicated veterans in their community when they donated items to an auction supporting the Honor Flight Network in May and participated in The American Hero’s Health Fair at the VFW Veteran’s Village in Ft. McCoy in July.

The main mission of National Cremation Society is to give all families peace of mind through compassionate and dignified cremation planning services. By helping families choose an affordable and customizable option that fulfills their final wishes for themselves or a loved one, National Cremation Society gives its members the opportunity to take control of what happens after someone passes away. At the same time, National Cremation Society’s caring and respectful staff guides families through the cremation process from the initial planning stages through the time a loved one is in their care and until a loved one is returned to a family.
